Philippine Youth Rowing Society (PYROS)
The Philippine Youth Rowing Society (PYROS) was formed in January of 1992. The team was composed of athletes from different universities in the Philippines. In the early nineties, when the sport of Dragon Boat Rowing was still in its infancy, PYROS emerged as one of the top teams in the country.
Since then, the team has traveled all over the world to compete in various dragon boat events which include Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, Thailand, and USA. PYROS is a regular participant in all regattas held in the Philippines and has earned high respect from other competing local teams.
PYROS has consistently placed well in all of its endeavors and has earned a name for itself in the international dragon boat community. Currently, the team is ranked 1st among the club teams in the country.
JOIN TEAM PYROS
The open recruitment for men and women paddlers is now open. You must be:
- A Filipino Citizen
- Able to swim 50 metres (any style) and tread water for 1 minute
- Be physically and medically fit
- Minimum height : Men - 1.65m, Women - 1.58m
- Weight : Men - 60kg to 70kg, Women - 50kg to 60kg
Annual Membership Fee: PhP 100.00
